Today, we had a special visit from An Garda Síochána. In class, we have been learning about people who help us in our community. When the Gardaí first came in, they showed us their patrol car in the yard. This was very exciting as we got to see the flashing lights and the inside of their car. We even got to hear their siren, it was very loud!
We then came inside and they talked to us about their job. We learned that the Gardaí are there to protect us and to help us in our communities. They also showed us their uniform and even let us try some
parts of their uniform on! The girls who wanted to try on their uniform got the chance to wear it. We had lots of fun and learned so much about their job.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the Gardaí from the Community Policing Unit in Dundalk Garda Station for giving up their time to come in and talk about their job.
