Intercultural Day: Food Festival and Concert

29th Apr 2025
Our school is a School of Sanctuary. This means that our school is a safe and welcoming school for all our pupils and their families. We are on our journey to become a Champion School of Sanctuary. Our school welcomes and celebrates all cultures.

In April, we celebrated Intercultural Day. Children dressed in the traditional dress of their country or in the colours of their country’s national flag. The children and their families made posters detailing information about their country and culture. The children brought in items which represent their culture. On the day, our pupils and their parents/guardians prepared traditional dishes and brought them to the school hall. Each class were invited to the school hall to taste the delicious foods from all around the world. Many parents helped to distribute the food on the day. After this, our school held a short Intercultural Day Concert. Some pupils performed dances to traditional music, some sang traditional songs, while other pupils recited traditional poems or played musical instruments from their culture.

We would like to thank all of our wonderful parents, guardians and pupils for all their hard work and support to make this day a success.
