This year, our whole school is working on our DEIS plan, with a different special focus each month. For the month of September our focus was on our attendance. At the start of the month, we set the goal of coming to school every day. We brainstormed as a whole class to list all things which could help us reach this goal. We used an iceberg template to create a visual representation of how there is many things “below the surface” which help towards the success of our goals.
As September has come to a close and we move into October, we are proud to say that our attendance has been fantastic. Everyone has worked really hard, and we are excited to keep building on this success together all year long!
