Fifth Class B have busy been taking part in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. They have been learning all about what it means to be an entrepreneur and how to run a business.
They worked really hard to come up with an idea for their own business - 'Bee Natural' - 100% natural lip balms handmade with Irish beeswax and locally sourced ingredients from Irish businesses. The girls worked in various teams to co-ordinate product development, advertising, finances, communication, production and everything in between! The finance team also did an amazing job of recording all expenditure, income and making a projection of our estimated income. They even created digital graphs and a slideshow to demonstrate their findings to the class - very impressive indeed!
All their teachers are so impressed with their hard work and dedication to setting up their brand. The girls have shown so much creativity and enthusiasm throughout the project and have shown how team work and collaboration can build something wonderful. The girls decided to launch the brand with two initial flavours of lip balm - Christmas peppermint flavour and also a lavender flavour. The girls were very forward thinking and also launched a male branded peppermint for all the dads, brothers and uncles out there - well done marketing team!
There was much excitement on Wednesday as the girls had the official launch of 'Bee Natural' with the opening of their pop up store in the parents' room.
