ACTIVE ACHIEVEMENTS
CLANS GAELIC FOOTBALL CLUB
IRISH DANCING
Well done to Sophie Doyle in 4th class on achieving great success recently in the Ulsters Irish dancing.
Parents Working in partnership with our parents is very important to us. We like to keep parents informed of our ongoing PE plans & Physical Activities throughout the year. We do this this using our School Newsletter and our Active Flag Noticeboard.
In December we will be asking our parents to fill out a questionnaire about PE in our school as we engage in the School Self-Evaluation process in which we will look at the teaching & learning of PE.

Tag Rugby
5th and 6th class are enjoying 8 weeks of tag rugby at the minute each Monday. This is being led by Tiernan Gonnelly from Dundalk Rugby club. The girls are really enjoying it and are learning great skills such as team work, passing backwards, running at speed and tagging your opponent. They are delighted to have the opportunity to try something different, fun and active.
GAA
3rd and 4th class are currently taking part in 8 weeks of GAA training on Tuesdays. This is being done by Brian Óg Corr who is the games promotion officer for Louth GAA. The girls are learning skills like hand passing, kicking, team games and co-operation.
"Fun, Move, Play"
Our 4th class students have been chosen to take part in the "Fun, Play, Move" project. This is a fundamental movements skills and physical literacy course that is in conjunction with DKIT, Sport Ireland and Louth Local Sports Partnership.
Pupil Focus Group
Ms. Butterly touched base with a sample group of girls from 2nd - 6th class to check-in with the pupils what their opinions on PE and Physical Activity are. This is part of our School Self-Evaluation process for PE and also strives to include pupils in our Active Flag process. Pupils would like to spend more time outdoors (weather permitting) for PE lessons and are really enjoying the broader variety of activities & lessons they are participating in this school year.
