Grandparents' Day 2017

Castletown GNS celebrated Grandparents' day, as part of Catholic School's Week, by inviting the grandparents of 1st class in to a St. Brigid's cross-making session.

The grandparents showed their lucky grand-daughters how to make St. Brigid's crosses and in return, the girls had a short prayer service and recited a poem in honour of grandparents.

The grandparents spoke about their experiences of school and the differences and similarities with nowadays. The girls all agreed they'd rather be at school now than in their grandparents' day.

Many thanks to Ms. Gallagher, who organised the lovely afternoon, and huge thanks to the grandparents who attended.
