We had a very busy day today, first we had end of year assembly where student of the year was announced and the girls with full attendance for the year got trophies and certificates, then our school mass, after that we went to the hall to do some dancing. Finally we made memory pictures sharing our favourite memory from the year. End of year mass - Friday 22nd June 2018 A reminder that the school end of year mass will take place in St. Nicholas' Church at 11 am. Parents are welcome to attend. Children who are not allowed to attend must be collected.
We were very lucky today to have a dance lesson with Emmanuelle organised by Ms. Gallagher. We really enjoyed it.
We went to W5 in Belfast on our tour this year. It was a fun packed adventure. First we visited a dinosaur exhibition, next the Climbit section, then the Go activity floor. We also attended a workshop where we learned about wind energy and we built wind turbines. Finally we had an hour in the Space Zone play area. This year we worked on our Incredible Edibles competition entry. We had to grow crops and complete five tasks to enter the competition. We learned all about growing plants and created a small school garden. We completed projects on farm to fork, kept food diaries for healthy eating week, wrote procedures and recipes based on the fruit and vegetables we grew and also sourced Irish grown fruit and vegetables in our local shops. We grew spinach, lettuce, turnips, chives, strawberries, potatoes and carrots. |
